The gods painted a beautiful dream for the human race. They govern a beautiful world for humans to live in. We exiles have done nothing wrong...yet we’re denied the gods’ love. But there are those blessed and loved by the gods. They are given a seat in holy Celestia. Their wishes will be fulfilled. They will become like the gods. The gods watch over them and the world answers their desires.

God's Eyes - 神之眼 is a general SFW Genshin Impact-zine focused on exploring visions and vision bearers of all elemental types through the form of a research book. The zine will be writing-heavy given the nature of the theme, but artists will also be included to either create spot illustrations in collaboration with writers or page illustrations.God's Eyes - 神之眼 will have three sections, all of which are explained below. Section names are working titles and are subject to change as the project progresses. All contributors will be given room and flexibility to explore the theme however they would like, allowing for creative interpretation; the examples provided below are just to act as guiding points when deciding on pitches for zine pieces.✦ Section One - Cultural Impact
This section will explore the cultural impact of Visions within Teyvat. Contributors will be encouraged to explore the division between people and Vision bearers (i.e., Alrani's thoughts in world quest Endless Research), parallels between Visions and Delusions, events like the Vision Hunt Decree (i.e., what if regular people incited it instead of the Raiden Shogun), Visions in trade (i.e., Ningguang had once considered opening a business to sell deactivated visions, only to resonate with one).✦ Section Two - Cubical Ladder
This section will explore the possibilities of Ascension to Celestia and the achievement of godhood (i.e., Jean ascending just as Vennessa was once said to have done). Contributors will also be encouraged to explore the relationship between Celestia and the Archons (i.e., the Tsaritsa's rebellion against the divine, Celestia instigating the Archon War, etc).✦ Section Three - Hypothesis
This section will explore the what-ifs and any other theories in relation to Visions. Examples of this could be explorations of the relationship between constellations, Visions, and the Vision bearer, or the what-ifs of a character losing their Vision (i.e., what would happen if Kaeya lost his vision? Would there be any other repercussions due to his relation to Khaenri'ah?).

A zine is a collection of fan works, ranging from fanart to fanfiction, featured in a magazine-like format and often focusing on a specific topic/theme.Q: What is the purpose of running two interest checks?
The purpose of running two interest checks was to first test to see if this concept was something that the community wanted to see be explored and how it should be explored. The feedback provided helped me to see what needed to be adjusted before the (potential) official launch in December.The second interest check is to help determine zine specs: cost of the zine, merch inclusion, a chance to suggest contributors, etc. It is running for a shorter time frame since entering this phase means that conceptually people would like to see the zine happen.Q: Will this zine be focused on all elemental vision bearers or just one specific category of elemental vision bearers?
This zine will be focusing on all elemental types!Q: Will this zine be for profit or for charity?
As per the interest check, God's Eyes - 神之眼 will be split-charity and split-profit!Q: Will this zine be physical or digital?
God's Eyes - 神之眼 will be a SFW (Safe for Work) physical and digital zine, but may potentially contain graphic descriptions of violence and/or blood.Q: What are the zine specs?
The zine will be produced in both physical and digital (PDF) formats in A5 size. It will have an estimated page count of 150 pages+ and will be perfect bound.Q: Where will the zine be shipped from?
The zine will be shipped from the US.Q: Will you be shipping internationally?
Yes! However, please note that we are expecting significant delays in production and shipping due to the COVID-19 pandemic. International shipping may require additional time. Some restrictions may also apply due to pandemic-related regulations. We will provide updates through our newsletter and Twitter.Q: How many contributors will be included?
We will be accepting 10-12 writers, 20-25 page artists, and 5-7 merch artists. These numbers are inclusive of guest contributors.Q: Can I apply for more than one position?
Yes, but you will only be accepted for one of them.Q: Is there an age requirement for contributor applicants?
The minimum age requirement at the time of application will be 16 years old.Q: Will artists and writers be allowed to collaborate?
Yes, most definitely! We will definitely be allowing and encouraging for contributors to collaborate with one another.Q: How will contributors be compensated?
All contributors will be guaranteed a physical copy of the zine (shipping included), as well as a full resolution PDF of the zine. All merch artists will receive a copy of their merch design on top of the zine. Remaining contributors may purchase any merch items at production cost. If profits allow, all contributors will be upgraded to the full bundle.As this project is on a split-model (charity/profit), 50% of the remaining funds will be donated to a charity voted upon by the contributors, while the other 50% will be split evenly between the moderator team and contributors. All contributors will be required to have a PayPal account (or equivalent) to receive their payment. Should contributors decide to not receive any monetary compensation, they may choose to have their portion added to the pool of funds sent to charity or added to the pool of contributor funds. If a contributor is under the age of 18, they will not be eligible to receive monetary compensation.In the event that we do not break even, the moderator team has committed to still compensate all of our contributors for their work out of pocket to provide the guaranteed copies of the physical zine and respective merch items to the merch artists.Q: Will you be looking for mods?
As of January 22, 2022, all positions for the moderator team have been filled!Q: Can "problematic" people apply?
Anyone may apply to this project regardless of their experience, provided that they meet the age requirement, however, we will not accept or work with contributors/moderators that produce and publicize hateful, harmful, and/or otherwise questionable material.This includes:
- Racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, ableism or otherwise hateful/discriminatory material
- Content that encourages/condones hateful acts related to the above
- Underaged sexual content (i.e. shota/lolicon)
- Incestuous content (this does not include KaeLuc/LucKae)*
- Plagiarized, stolen, traced, recolored, or otherwise worksThe moderator team will strive to provide and cultivate a safe space for everyone involved in the project, and hope to receive the same commitment from the contributors as well. Harassment will not be tolerated simply because someone has a problem regarding a contributor's or moderator's shipping preferences.
